Where our systems work
Four primary application areas, built on nearly two decades of collaboration with public agencies, water utilities, research institutions and integration partners.
Level, rainfall, discharge.
The EU Floods Directive (2007/60/EC), national hydrological mandates and municipal pluvial-flood programmes all require continuous gauge data. TerraTransfer delivers stations, telemetry and alerting from a single source, aligned with WMO Early Warnings for All.
Our Aquatos loggers transmit over LTE-M with NB-IoT fallback, critical when a cellular network is congested during an event. Optional redundant antenna paths.
- Level via radar or pressurePermanent installations on bridges, weirs, footbridges
- Rainfall via pulse adapterFor any standard tipping-bucket gauge, Type 0330
- Threshold alertsSMS and e-mail to on-call duty staff
- Data delivery to control roomsCSV/FTP export, Modbus interface, REST API
- Standby for service customersOutside business hours, by individual agreement, for acute flood events. See Service.
From production well to distribution network.
Municipal utilities, water boards and operators use TerraTransfer systems for continuous monitoring of production wells, reservoirs, pressure zones and distribution networks.
The Aquatos mini reads out via Bluetooth on site, ideal for rural well fields without cellular coverage. Where real-time telemetry matters, the Aquatos Web LTX takes over. Pulse-counter adapters fit any standard water meter with a reed contact or NPN/PNP pulse output.
- Continuous well levelsEarly warning on yield decline
- Reservoir fill levelsVia pressure transducer or radar level
- Pressure / flowModbus converter for common MID flow meters
- Leak detectionNetwork balancing via pulse counters at handover points
Multi-parameter for the EU Water Framework Directive.
Dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity, pH, nitrate, ammonium, phosphate, the Aquatos platform integrates all common multi-parameter sondes for compliance campaigns and continuous monitoring under the EU WFD.
Our stainless-steel monitoring buoys carry the sensors where they belong: in the water body itself. Standard variant for open water, shallow-water variant from 20 cm depth. Optional thermistor chain for vertical stratification analysis.
- Multi-parameter sondesCalibration-grade, integrated via SDI-12 or Modbus
- Vertical thermal profileUp to 30 nodes on a 200 m chain
- DO early warningSMS alert on critical oxygen saturation
- Research-gradeFully programmable intervals, CSV export
From permafrost to the tropics.
Universities and research institutes operate TerraTransfer stations under climatic extremes, at −25 °C in permafrost as well as at +85 °C and 100 % humidity in tropical field studies.
Complete climate stations with solar/battery power, optional satellite backhaul and sensors as required. Fully programmable measurement intervals; multi-year autonomy without on-site maintenance.
- Permafrost boreholesChain measurement up to 200 m depth
- Tropical field studiesIP68 + tropicalised electronics
- Satellite backhaulIridium or compatible modules
- Sensor flexibilityRainfall, wind, radiation, soil moisture, air quality
Tailored integration into your control room.
Are you a systems integrator, a software vendor or a research institute? TerraTransfer hardware can be cleanly integrated into your existing control rooms and analytics platforms, with adapted firmware and data interfaces for your stack.
Open standards (SDI-12 V1.3, Bluetooth 5; Modbus optional) keep the stack auditable and let you extend or integrate without vendor lock-in.
